About the Producer
Léopold Gourmel cognacs originate in vineyards located in the hilly Premier Cru, or First Growth, of Fins Bois, where the oldest subsoils of the region are found and where exposure to the sun is excellent. No chemicals or pesticides are used on the vineyards. Olivier's team prune the vines to give half the average cognac yield which increases concentration of the base wines. The vines are between 15-45 years old, with high density, almost three times the region's average at 5,000 vines per hectare.
