The French Comté presents a French box filled with the most popular French delicacies to make the perfect cheese and charcuterie selection.
This set includes:
- Ossau Iraty 250g: Ossau-Iraty is a delicate ewe’s milk cheese from the south mountains of France in the pyrenes. The roasted hazelnut flavours make it easy to serve at any time of the day. Even better with a dry white or fruity red wine.
-
Emmental 250g: Subtle and fragrant as well as firm and tender, this cheese surprises the taste buds of young and old alike. This cheese is matured for a minimum of 75 days, with a week in a cold cellar then successively in a temperate and warm cellar. The affiner 'rings the wheel' to hear the presence of 'eyes' in the cheese. Made with raw whole cow's milk, Emmental de Savoie PGI is a cooked pressed cheese. -
Gherkins 680g -
Saucisson Campagnard 100g: Thick saucisson with a more coarse mince, seasoned with crushed peppercorn and garlic. Great classic, quite close to the Rosette de Lyon. The pigs are reared outside in the French countryside. -
Lonzo 100 680g: The Lonzo is a lean Pork Filet, air dried 2 months. It is washed with a Savoie brandy and cured old style with Guérande sea salt. The pigs are reared outside in the French countryside. -
Selles Sur Cher 150g: An ash-coated goat cheese, Sells-Sur-Cher has an elastic, nutty pâté that melts in ones mouth with a lactic, tangy aftertaste. Like many goat cheeses Sells-Sur-Cher pairs well with a dry white wine. -
Crackers -
Morbier: Produced in Franche-Comte for centuries, it is a rich and creamy cheese with hints of fruit, grass and citrus. It is the blue layer of ash running through its middle which makes it so distinctive and easy to recognise.
