    Product Description

The perfect way to serve a cheeseboard – comprising of a blue, a hard, a soft and a goats cheese, the Butlers Family cheeseboard is the essential collection. Created using our absolute favourites Blacksticks Blue, Trotter Hill, Button Mill and Ravens Oak (goats milk).

    Cheeseboard includes:

Blacksticks Blue 150g: A juxtaposition of bright, creamy, mellow cheese with a hint of irresistible blue bite. Bright like the early morning sun, creamy in its texture with just enough blue bite to tingle your taste buds and keep you coming back for more! Blacksticks Blue is the original contemporary farmhouse blue cheese. It burst onto the scene in 2004 unlike anything else in the blue cheese arena; the product of amazing skill and incomparable cheesemaking passion. Made with love, using traditional handmade methods in our Lancashire family dairy with the rich milk produced by the herds from just over the road at Lower Barker Farm. It is crafted in open vats, then poured into individual moulds, turned by hand and matured under the watchful eyes of our cheese experts. Blacksticks Blue converts those who ‘dislike’ blue cheese, enthrals those who do and is equally as amazing sitting on your cheese board or as an addition to your culinary concoctions! It is truly versatile and delicious as well as eye catching. Suitable for Vegetarians.

Button Mill 150g: A bright, unbelievably soft little cheese that has a truly unique rind and delicate flavours that make it dangerously moreish. A bright, unbelievably soft little cheese that has a truly unique rind and delicate flavours that make it dangerously moreish. The unique cocktail of cultures results in each cheese behaving and maturing in a truly unique way that just grows more and more delicious with each day. Creating Button Mill in our dairy is a labour of love. The cheese starts life in tiny artisan basins, which produce small batches at a time. We treat each Button Mill cheese as an individual, right from the beginning, when it is gently placed by hand into its own mould. Thereafter, it is reliant on the skill of our master cheesemakers to parent the cheese through its 12 day make to create its distinct flavour. Button Mill is a great accomplice to watching the day go by – get your favourite warm drink, possibly a few delicious crackers, find somewhere comfy and only get up to get another one from the fridge. Suitable for Vegetarians.

Trotter Hill 200g: A rich Lancashire cheese matured for at least 12 months to create a golden hue and open texture that is buttery and tangy. Our trademark Lancashire cheese created by Mrs. Butler (Gran) and developed over decades by the family. Trotter Hill is a rich hard cheese, matured for at least 12 months to create a golden hue and open texture that is buttery and tangy. Trotter Hill is really unlike any of the other classic cheeses you keep in the fridge. Handmade in the same way since 1932 at Wilson Fields Farm, in open vats with pasteurised cows’ milk from the Butler family herd. The cheese curds are allowed to develop their unique taste and texture over a slow make. The curds are filled into individual moulds and cloth bound in the traditional way before being carefully matured. Trotter Hill is the ‘old reliable’ of all our cheeses. It makes the best cheese scones, the best cheese sandwiches, unbelievable cheese & pineapple skewers (you know you love them) rules the cheeseboard and melts like a dream. Suitable for Vegetarians.

Whole Ravens Oak 150g: Ravens Oak is a small, creamy white soft goats cheese that’s handmade traditionally and poured into small moulds. Ravens Oak is a small, creamy white soft goats cheese that’s handmade traditionally and poured into small moulds. The cheese has a subtle nutty flavour reminiscent of almonds, which develop as the cheese naturally matures within its delicate white rind. Ravens Oak is made at Wilson Fields Farm from the freshest goats milk from Nicola Butler’s herd on our family farm at the foot of Beacon Fell in rural Lancashire. It’s perfect on a cheese board, along with great wine and great company. If you want to go to town, try baking a whole Ravens Oak as you would a Camembert and serving with caramelised red onions and loads of freshly baked crusty bread. Suitable for Vegetarians.
