A creamy piquant blue from the makers of Cropwell bishop in Nottingham, Beauvale is a soft blue cheese with a delicate creamy colour. It is silky smooth and is beautifully creamy with mild blue notes and a delicious subtle flavour.
A newcomer on the scene from Robin Skailes and Howard Lucas of the famed Cropwell Bishop Dairy in Nottingham. Made with pasteurized milk from peak district farms, this creamy, semi soft blue is matured for 7 weeks and has an amazing melt in the mouth texture. Rightly earning top marks in the great taste awards.
Beauvale is made with traditional rennet and is made in small vats producing only around 40 cheese at a time. It is a hand ladled cheese – the traditional method for separating the curds from the whey. This helps to give a creamy texture. Each cheese is turned by hand during the weeks spent in the maturing rooms. The cheese is individually graded then cut by hand.
