Cesari Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso Mara Red Wine 75cl 13.5% ABV

This is the younger, fresher expression of the same world-class Northern Italian terroir that gives us the highly-concentrated and dense Amarone wines. In fact, Valpolicella Ripasso is often referred to as Baby Amarone.

Unlike Amarone which is made with grapes that are dried for three months, Ripasso has two fermentations. One with fresh grapes and the other in contact with Amarone skins. The result is a wine of structure and concentration but equally one of freshness and vibrancy. Ripe black cherries and vanilla on the nose with an unctuous and raisined palate.

Cesari and Mara (named after the Cesari family matriarch) in particular, are stalwarts of the Bedale’s list and giants in Veneto.
