    Product Description

Batavia Dutch Coffee is a unique single origin coffee brewed using the authentic Cold Drip method. Cold Drip, which is originally known as Dutch Coffee in Northeast Asia, produces a black ice coffee similar to cold brew but with more depth, a wider range of flavours and a much cleaner aftertaste. The method was originally invented by Dutch traders in the 17th century when a ban on open fire on the wooden sailing ships of the time prevented them from brewing warm coffee. The resulting coffee was much less acidic or bitter yet was more flavourful than traditional brewed coffee and enjoys continuous popularity in Northeast Asia ever since.

This fruity, naturally-processed single origin coffee from Yirgacheffe in Ethiopia is hard to describe but an absolute joy for every coffee lover looking to see just how far their favourite beverage can go. Beautiful tones of red fruit and wine with an aftertaste of whiskey make this the most complex and most layered coffee you will drink in a long time and works perfectly with the Cold Drip method. Mix this with tonic for what is most likely the best non-alcoholic cocktail you've ever tried.

Due to the intense, long lasting flavour of the coffee, a Dutch Coffee is the perfect alcohol alternative - it offers the same experience and potential in cocktails and desserts yet contains no calories and no alcohol.

    Serving Suggestions
Serve on ice, drink very slowly in small sips to give the coffee all the chance to release its flavours.

For a Dutch Tonic, pour 40ml of Yirgacheffe Coffee and 160ml of tonic water for a beautifully complex, invigorating drink and garnish with mango (soak the mango in the coffee a short while for extra taste!). Of course, adding gin to this will help make a great cocktail.
