One of our favourite Sicilian food memories is the sweet smell of basil. Our Sicilian basil is organically grown in open fields of mineral rich volcanic soil. At the height of Summer, the basil is hand-picked and preserved in salt and olive oil. Once the olive harvest begins in October, our preserved basil is combined with freshly picked olives in the cold extraction process, resulting in our fresh and herbaceous Sicilian basil extra virgin olive oil.
We love it drizzled on a fresh caprese salad or used as a base for your favourite tomato pasta dish.
Made by pressing Sicilian basil with Nocellara Etnea Olives, both grown in the mineral rich soil on the slopes of Mount Etna, Europe's most spectacular volcano. 100% natural - no essence or aromas have been added to this product.
