Slow baked Calabrian figs wrapped in fig leaves. Sweet, succulent and delicious with cheese, as well as cold cuts and charcuterie.
This ancient and delicious recipe is made with sweet juicy Dottato figs of Cosenza, in Calabria, Southern Italy. Plump sun-dried figs are air dried and then slowly caramelised in their own juices over 18 hours, before being shaped into balls wrapped in fig leaves then slow baked.
The caramel and liquorice flavours are a delicious complement to a Gorgonzola Dolce or a goat's cheese. Also great with cold cuts, pâtés and charcuterie. Simply slice with a sharp knife and serve.

Because most of our goods are perishable, your order will be packed in an insulated cardboard box filled with ice packs. We send goods by overnight carrier to destinations on the GB mainland only for a delivery by 16.00. We can deliver to your home or place of work, and to the home or work-place of your relatives, friends or colleagues. We must have a complete post code and telephone number for every delivery address. We can deliver on, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays ONLY.
Because most of our products are perishable, we highly recommend that you provide us with an alternative delivery instruction for any private address; such as "leave in porch/on step/with a neighbour/behind the bins". Please take great care when stipulating delivery locations, addresses and dates, because once these have been entered and you have received a confirmation email for your order, they cannot be changed.
Orders cannot be scheduled.
Please make sure your order is stored in refrigerated storage/fridge as soon as it has been delivered.
