Nanna's Christmas Pudding

Nanna's Christmas Pudding

Nanna's Award-Winning Christmas Puddings are handmade the way they should be; in small batches using a wooden spoon! We use our traditional family recipe which has been passed to us from our Great Grandmother.

Our Story

We are Paul and Holly, a husband and wife team with two little family apprentices, from Bedfordshire. Paul's childhood memories of Christmas always included helping Mum in the kitchen, mixing up and steaming Nanna's Christmas puddings. We always called our Christmas pudding Nanna's because we believed it was our Nanna's recipe. On finding Nanna's handwritten recipe book we discovered the pudding recipe was much older than we thought. She had titled it "Mum's Christmas Pudding." So that means the recipe is at least our Great Grandmother's.

We originally started making Christmas puddings from our kitchen in Dunstable, Bedfordshire as Christmas gifts for family members and friends. We were very humbled when we received requests for more. With such good feedback our popularity grew by word of mouth. So our business venture began. We are very proud our Christmas Pudding has won Great Taste Awards from the Guild of Fine Food.

We care about the ingredients in our puddings. This is why we source flour milled locally, from Stotfold Water Mill, eggs from local free range farms, Californian raisins and Greek Vostizza currants, the finest in the world with PDO status. We use breadcrumbs made from our very own homemade bread and even juice the lemons ourselves. The puddings are steamed slowly for 10 hours. Creating a soft, moist and truly delicious pudding.
